Kiadis Pharma appoints Stefaan Allemeersch as Vice President Business Development

Amsterdam, 17 June, 2009 – Biopharmaceutical company Kiadis Pharma, focusing on the development of innovative cell based therapeutics in the field of bone marrow transplantations, announces today the appointment of Stefaan Allemeersch as Vice President Business Development. With this appointment, Kiadis is further expanding its management team to support the commercial development of its products.

Stefaan Allemeersch brings a wealth of strategic and transactional experience. Prior to joining Kiadis, he worked as investment banker at Fortis where he held the position of Director Healthcare, Corporate Finance and Capital Markets.  Before Fortis, he held several management positions in strategic marketing and business development at GlaxoSmithKline Biologics which he joined in 1998.  While at GSK, he successfully negotiated and led numerous global transactions including product and technology license agreements.  Within Worldwide Strategic Marketing, he contributed to the commercial launch of several vaccines for the developed and developing world.  Mr. Allemeersch holds an MSc degree in Bio-Engineering from the University of Leuven and obtained a Masters of Management from Vlekho Brussels.
